Paignton Community and Sports College
The reasons for the fences are essentially innocent ones including the prevention of falls into the deep culvert where the stream flows and the need to maintain balls in court for various sports. The overall effect, though, gives the impression, perhaps, of an institution in which the people inside are being kept in for security reasons. However, the sign tells us otherwise.

Leat alongside Paignton Community College, Totnes Road
This leat or channelled stream is very well concealed from the casual observer. To the motorist on the very busy Totnes Road opposite Paignton Zoo it is invisible as it is so far below the level of the road. The Community and Sports College is on the left.
