Fore Street, Barton
Beyond the three Victorian cottages is the thatched C16-C17 Old Manor Farmhouse, "a good example of an evolved house of late medieval origins in an area of the county mostly developed in the C19". http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/Details/Default.aspx?id=390608&mode=adv . Seen from the junction with Barton Hill Road, closed off to traffic.

St. Augustine - School & Chapel
This school and chapel was built at the request of Mary Brunel, wife of Isambard Kingdom Brunel. It was to provide a school and chapel for the workers and children on Brunel's Watcombe Park estate. The piece of land known as Barn Close was purchased for £250, and it was intended to include workers' cottages as well as the school and chapel.
Later it served the local population as a chapel. It closed in 1928 and became two separate private dwellings. The closing was due to the establishing of St. Martin's, Barton, as a mission church.

Former Barton Post Office
The house is the original Barton Post Office in Fore Street, Barton. Half the property was the shop, and the Post Master living in the other half.
Today the house bears the name, 'The Old Post Office'.
