Empire Road, Torquay
The road divides into two sections. This northern part is C20; round the corner it becomes suddenly Victorian.

Path crossing Empire Road, Torquay
Part of a sequence of paths making a walking route between Plainmoor and the lower end of Chatto Road. The house on the left can be recognised from Image The houses beyond are in Haslam Road.

Motley litter, Torquay
They may be more colourful than most litter, but these rubber bands strewn for some reason on a path by Empire Road are going to take a very long to biodegrade - about 50 years, perhaps. I suppose someone might sweep them up before an animal falls foul of them.

Plant near Empire Road, Torquay
By the path that links to Hill Park Road. This must be a version of gromwell, though the flowers look a little too bell-like, certainly if compared to Image Whatever, it's a bright and welcome escape from a garden at a time of year when few wild flowers are in bloom.

Blackberries, rear of Empire Road, Torquay
Well on the way, with some berries virtually ripe. This is beside a path down to Chatto Road.

Alley, Plainmoor
The point of this photo, which shows one side of a useful little link path between St Margaret's Avenue and Westhill Avenue Close (ahead), was to demonstrate the improvement to a dilapidated and damaged gate that was here previously, but, rather crucially, I don't seem to have submitted a photo of that. Still looking.
