Boat Inn
The Boat Inn is on the opposite bank of the River Severn to Coalport. As can be seen the river is in flood, and the pub's name could also be taken as an instruction! The marks on the right hand doorway show previous flood levels, and on this occasion the water has not even reached the lowest of these lines so could be construed as a "routine" flood.

Boat Inn at Jackfield
The painted sign 'Unspoilt by Progress' was a marketing slogan used by Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries for their Banks's Bitter in the mid 1980s. The company took over Marston's Brewery in 1999 and since 2007 has traded under the Marston's name. The doorway on the right is marked with the record flood levels. The most recent was on 29th January 2013 when the level of the River Severn reached 16'6".
