Elephant & Castle pub sign, Dawley
Here's a jolly pub sign; that elephant's really putting his back into it. It's in a much better state than some others in the town: Image

16 & 17 Burton Street, Dawley
A rather striking early-mid 19th century houses with shops, which attracted a Grade II listing https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101206662-16-and-17-burton-street-great-dawley#.X2fBrmhKjIU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1206662 in 1983. The plain-glazed ground floor window on the right (reflecting the redbrick building) seems to be a recent replacement for an older small-pane window, and does little for the character of the place, in my view; it seems quite surprising that this was permitted by Telford & Wrekin Council.

11, 11a & 15 Burton Street, Dawley
The numbering arrangement here seems a bit strange (what happened to no 13?) but leaving that aside, these three shops date from the early 19th century, and were collectively Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101367384-11-11a-and-15-burton-street-great-dawley#.X2fAoWhKjIU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1367384 in 1983. The listing describes them as "a good group of joined address units with early C19 shop fronts"
