Southwater Lake
The remodelled lake and new buildings development which opened in late 2014. On the left is University Centre Telford First Point Library, in the centre is the Premier Inn hotel, and on the right is a bowling alley.

Southwater Lake 2014
The area around the Southwater Lake has been extensively redeveloped in the last couple of years (the 'Southwater Developments', of which Phase 1 opened in October 2014). In order to accommodate the new buildings, a series of restaurants, cinema, hotels, bars etc, the lake has been reduced in size somewhat, and re-landscaped. This picture shows much the same area as seen in Image, taken 6 years ago; the bowling alley & bingo venues have been rebuilt. This picture was taken from the terrace outside the new public library.

Southwater Lake
It was once quite pleasant to sit on the grass with a picnic and watch the waterfowl. Following a fatal accident, public access to the water has been cut off by a double fence, within which shrubs have grown to obstruct the view.
