The area around the Southwater Lake has been extensively redeveloped in the last couple of years (the 'Southwater Developments', of which Phase 1 opened in October 2014). In order to accommodate the new buildings, a series of restaurants, cinema, hotels, bars etc, the lake has been reduced in size somewhat, and re-landscaped. This picture shows much the same area as seen in Image, taken 6 years ago; the bowling alley & bingo venues have been rebuilt. This picture was taken from the terrace outside the new public library.
