Railings and gatepiers at Mardol Cottage
These wrought iron railings, with a gate in the middle, and the stone piers to either side all date from the late 18th century. St Owens Well House
A cruck-framed house and one of the oldest houses in Much Wenlock and home of William Corvehill (d 1546) "priest of the service of Our Lady" whose wages were 8 marks and the house at St Owen's Well. The well is just to the left of the house. Image

Nos 5 & 6 Queen Street, Much Wenlock
Although much of the frontage of this pair of cottages is a bit of a 19th century facade, it's the cruck frame in the gable elevation that gives the game away. This end of the building dates from probably the 15th century, there being two further crucks internally, one of which has been dendro-dated to approx 1415. It is described in its 1974 Grade II listing https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101294366-nos-5-and-6-queen-street-much-wenlock#.YflxZurP3IU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1294366 as "certainly the oldest timber-framed building in the
town" although research suggests that timbers in the original core of Image may be almost 100 years older still.

St Owens Well
A small and rather inconspicuous opening to a very old spring-site, thought to date back to the 6th century. It was once surrounded by a rather more grandiose stone well-house from the Victorian period, but that has been removed.
