Cheswell Drive Railway Bridge Benchmark
The Ordnance Survey cut into the northern buttress of the former railway bridge that sits on Cheswell Drive, Telford, Shropshire. It was last verified by the OS in 1961.

Railway bridge
The Wellington to Newport railway ran from the foreground to the bridge in the distance. The road over the top of the bridge is Cheswell Drive.

Old railway near Donnington, Telford
This is all that remains of the old joint LNWR/GWR railway line from Wellington to Stafford, taken in summer 1992. This was taken from one of the distinctive three arched bridges which used to cross the line but which now stand uselessly in a field; another one is visible in the distance. The Wrekin, a well known local landmark for miles around, is visible on the horizon.
There is pressure to reopen this railway, but personally, I can't see it ever happening.
