Buildings in Audley Road
The building on the left is Jones Fish & Chips. The building on the right has two front doors, and a sign with the name Traditions. Presumably part of the building is a private residence, and part is used for business purposes.

The New Inn, 2 Stafford Road
Stafford Road is the continuation of Stafford Street. This popular pub is older than it looks from the outside, and is believed to date from 1792. It still has some remains of its old stables, and a very old cellar. At the back is a beer garden. The oval sign to the right of the Union Jack flag is a sign for Caffrey's Irish Ale.

14 St Mary Street, Newport
Originally built in the late 18th century, albeit with a number of subsequent alterations, most notably the large 19th century paired frontage with modern glazing. As seen these days, the majority of the building is 18th century, but it hides an earlier, probably 17th century timber-framed core. The shop frontage is more recent. The sham timber framing to the 19th century brick frontage hides a much older (probably 17th century) genuine timber framed house, altered on the ground floor to retail premises. Market Hall (Stafford Street frontage)
There is still an indoor market here on Fridays & Saturdays, with the entrance by the door under the sign "Newport Market". Much of the ground floor is used by individual shops.

The former Newport Town Hall
Built in 1860 to a design by J Cobb, described as 'debased Italianate style', and originally used as the Town Hall.
