75 High Street, Newport
Not much of great interest to look at from the front, but the rear of this building is much more spectacular. The core of the house dates from the early 16th century, and was re-faced in brick in the 19th, which completely hides the timber framed structure. Parts of the rear include some rare surviving 10- and 6-light windows, and diamond framing of the timbers. The whole was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101054396-front-block-and-rear-range-newport#.YI5pqbVKjIU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1054396 in 1978.

Business premises to the rear of Barclay's Bank
The same narrow street as
Image but seen from the opposite direction. Barclays Bank on the High Street was once a noted coaching inn, The Lion Hotel, and these buildings lie to its rear, presumably the former stables and outbuildings for coachmen and so on.

63-67 High Street, Newport
The core of this row of houses, converted to shops, dates back to the 17th century and is undoubtedly timber framed. The current presentation of a rendered and stuccoed front is more the work of the 18th century. They were collectively Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101307217-63-67-high-street-newport#.YKDd3KhKjIU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1307217 in 1978.

1960's building in Newport, Shropshire
Flat roofed. Unlovely. Unloved. Tired. At odds with the whole main street. But it exists and maybe should be lifted up by making a real effort to show it off as a prime example of the architecture of its day.
