Sheep at Corbet Tower
Corbet Tower is a remnant of a building restored in 1820, standing very close to a modern mansion; neither tower nor mansion is visible from the road. The sheep and the tree are in this grid square.

Minor road to Hownam
The road crosses a low ridge from Morebattle to the Kale Water. Grubbit Law is on the left with slopes leading up the Hownam Law beyond.

Corbet Tower
This small tower stands in a private garden and is not open to the public. Dating back to the 16th century, it was rebuilt by the Ker family after the original building was burnt by the English in 1544. Viewed from Morebattle Hill.

Ford on the Kale Water
Access to field tracks on the E side of the valley, from the minor road to Hownam. Note that St Cuthbert's Way crosses by footbridge about 100m to the S.
