Milverton Wesleyan Methodist chapel
Dissenting parishioners were holding meetings in the 1840s and asked for a chapel to be built. A parcel of land with a stable and workshops, part of the Irongates Estate, was cleared and by 1850 a new place of worship erected for the sum of £222. Although relations between the two main church factions were frosty, the two now hold joint services. The chapel was refurbished in 1999 and many pews were removed for a carpetted space; it now holds popular tea and cake sessions.

Hoping for a new future
The Globe Inn is a late 1800s watering hole that has recently lost its resident hosts. Plans are now in hand to raise money to buy it as a community asset.

The Globe Inn - under new management
Milverton's central pub has had a change: the previous landlord and landlady withdrew after 17 years' service and offered it for community use in 2023. This has resulted in the formation of the Milverton Community Benefit Society - a recognised body that allows application to the Government's (originally-named) Leveling Up Fund. It has attempted to raise the £585,000 for the inn by selling shares at £100 each. So far the effort has raised some £168,000 and has indicated that there will be up to £300,000 available from grants - hence the sign on the corner. See also Image] for the enamel AA sign. The inn was built in the late eighteenth-early nineteenth century and is a Grade II listed building.
