Milverton's central pub has had a change: the previous landlord and landlady withdrew after 17 years' service and offered it for community use in 2023. This has resulted in the formation of the Milverton Community Benefit Society - a recognised body that allows application to the Government's (originally-named) Leveling Up Fund. It has attempted to raise the £585,000 for the inn by selling shares at £100 each. So far the effort has raised some £168,000 and has indicated that there will be up to £300,000 available from grants - hence the sign on the corner. See also Image] for the enamel AA sign. The inn was built in the late eighteenth-early nineteenth century and is a Grade II listed building.
