Lingen is a small village in the northwest corner of Herefordshire, near the Welsh border. It lies on Lime Brook which empties into the River Lugg. Occupied since medieval times there are some strip lynchets, a 16th century church and a motte and bailey castle.

Originally a hall house, now divided into two, Tudor Cottage on the left, The Cottage on the right. Built in the 15th or 16th century, remodelled circa 1700 when a floor was inserted into the hall. Timber framed with plaster infill on a brick plinth, all under a tile roof. There is much original internal timber exposed.
