The Forge (nearest the camera) and Mortimer Cottage were originally one house, now two. Built in the 16th or 17th century, mostly timber framed with a mix of brick and plaster infill but with some rubble stone, all under a tile roof. Listed, grade II, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1082039 Lingen is a small village in the northwest corner of Herefordshire, near the Welsh border. It lies on Lime Brook which empties into the River Lugg. Occupied since medieval times there are some strip lynchets, a 16th century church and a motte and bailey castle.
