The former Fox Inn (1), Lyth Hill Road, Bayston Hill
In recent years there were four public houses in the large village of Bayston Hill, until the Fox Inn closed in 2009. There were plans in late 2010 to re-open it, with an emphasis on food. Subsequently however plans were approved for the pub's demolition and replacement by yet more housing. No doubt the land taken up by the car park made this an attractive proposition to developers. The sign on the pub's right advertises the new houses, so it appears demolition is imminent. Image

The former Fox Inn (2), Lyth Hill Road, Bayston Hill
Despite the For Sale sign, this pub unfortunately is shortly to be demolished, as a notice from Shropshire Council, attached to the front door, confirms. It will be replaced by housing, which is already being advertised on the hoarding to the right of the pub. There used to be two pictures of a fox plus the pub's name, on boards, attached to the front of the building at first floor level. These had already been removed, when this photograph was taken in February 2012. Image
