Rime on the leaves beside Bechan Brook
I'm not sure what shrub these leaves belong to but they look pretty trimmed with sparkling frosty gems.

After the flood 2
These garden waste bins in the car park of the Community Hall, Bettws Cedewain, are not usually parked at such a jaunty angle. The wall of water which swept down Bechan Brook (which normally flows just beyond the grass) on the evening of 22 July 2007 floated them into their current position. Several cars parked in the car park at the time were also 'bobbing about', a resident told me. Former village school - Bettws Cedewain
As is usual hereabouts, the community hall (left) was built next to the school in 1985. However, the village school, built in 1896, closed in 1995 and the building now houses an independent special school, Bettws Lifehouse https://bettwslifehouse.org.uk/

Bridge at Bettws Cedewain
The road bridge over Bechan Brook (Bechan meaning small or puny) still showing high water levels two days after the flood. The terrace in the foreground is opposite the New Inn who must have been pleased that their choice of cast iron patio furniture had not been swept away. There were bar towels and a concrete toadstool on the river bank. See Neil Summers' pics taken the day of the flood http://www.geograph.org.uk/search.php?i=75081220&displayclass=bigger
