Tesco Extra, Clapham Common South
At first sight it is not obvious that this imposing building is a Tesco Extra superstore. The facade was that of the South London Hospital for Women from 1912 to 1984, but the rest of the hospital behind has been demolished and replaced by the supermarket. Signage on the old building is minimal - only the car park entrance at the right hand end, and the new entrance at the opposite end

The Latitude Building
Former South London Hospital for Women and Children opposite Clapham Common. The original building was completed in 1929, designed by Sir Edwin Cooper. The hospital closed in 1984. The site now houses a Tesco supermarket along with apartments, with the original frontage being retained and renovated, but with the addition of an end pavilion (towards the right of this photo) - this had been part of Edwin Cooper's original design but was never completed.

Entrance to Tesco superstore
I thought at first this was a small Tesco Express. In fact it's the entrance to the Tesco Extra superstore on Clapham Common South (to the right of the photo). See
