Amity Grove, Raynes Park
Amity Grove runs in a rough crescent linking Durham Road (this is the junction) to Coombe Lane. Originally, the name Raynes Park applied to the area to the south of the railway, named after a local landowner. After the station opened in 1871 the area rapidly developed including here north of the railway; it could be referred to as West Wimbledon but Raynes Park seems more appropriate.
