Putney: Putney Wharf Tower and St Mary's Church
Viewed from Putney Bridge two very different ages of buildings are visible next to the River Thames here. The church was substantially rebuilt in 1836 but the tower dates from the mid-15th century. Putney Wharf Tower is a recent rebuild of the 17 storey 1960s ICL office block building providing 66 luxury apartments and a three storey penthouse. A three bedroom apartment in the Tower would sell for around £1,000,000 at today's prices.
