Tree and shops in Cavendish Road
The shops fill the space between Yukon Road and Dagnan Road. That on the right (selling carpets) appears to have once had an ornamental facade over the doorway

Corner shops, Cavendish Road
This block is wedged between Yukon and Dagnan Roads. Both corners were formerly shops, but that on the left has been converted into a house. That on the right remains a retail premises, trading in carpets and possibly other interior decorations.

A heap of rubbish in Cavendish Road
All bagged up, ready for collection, but in the meantime ...? On the 1850 OS map of London, this section of road is called Dragmire Lane; no wonder the residents were glad when it changed later in the century

Buildings on Balham New Road, SW12
An interesting sequence of buildings on the south side of the road. The first, at number 22, is described at http://www.wandsworth.gov.uk/download/1702/old_devonshire_road_ca_appraisal_and_management_strategy as "redbrick, Gothic-style hall with arched doorways dating from the very late Victorian period". Then comes an older three-storey cottage, followed by the late Victorian Balham Pentecostal Church.
