Somerset Estate, Sunbury Lane
One of two soaring point blocks whose jagged profiles are a landmark on the skyline. The look was used on the Westbury (Image]) and Wyndham Estates (Image]). Built c1965 for the Greater London Council, whose architect was Colin Lucas. Reinforced concrete frame. Double glazing installed c2000 remedied the original poor insulation.

Trainers Graveyard on Safety Chains at Battersea Reach
On a serious note: In recent years, chains have been fitted along most of the Thames embankments for the safety of anyone unfortunate enough to fall in to the river.
