Embankment of the former Mow Cop tramway
The Mow Cop Tramway was an unusual mineral railway that took coal from two collieries on the east (Biddulph) side of Mow Cop, up the hill and through a 380 yard long tramway tunnel, constructed in 1832, then down an inclined plane to a wharf on the Macclesfield Canal the other side. This short length of embankment near Tower Hill Farm is one of the few remnants on the east side of the hill. See Image for the remaining length on the other side.

Mow House Farm
The farmhouse is listed grade II (list entry 1374384) as "a well-crafted pre-1840 building with some good architectural details, such as a stone door case, eaves cornice and quoins."

Southeast from Mow Cop
A view from near Mow Cop Castle across the southeastern slopes of the hill. The semi-detached houses are on Moorland Road. The road beyond it is Church Lane, which leads from SJ8657 into SJ8656 between ribbon development and into Harriseahead.
