Kidsgrove Parish Neighbourhood

Kidsgrove Parish is an urban area made up of several wards including Mow Cop, Harriseahead, Kidsgrove, Clough Hall, Talke, Butt Lane and Talke Pits. The area is predominantly made up of residential housing with several small industrial estates and the popular Freeport Shopping centre at Talke Pits.

There is a local country park at Bathpool. The Trent and Mersey and Macclesfield canals converge at Kidsgrove near to the entrance of the Harecastle Tunnel. The landmark at Mow Cop was built originally as a summer house but is now a local attraction. The area has good travel links and trains to London now stop at Kidsgrove Railway station.

There are two comprehensive schools in the Parish and nine primary schools in the area. There is also a large sports centre at Clough Hall which has outdoor pitches and is used by local schools.
