The 1777 Harecastle Tunnel
The north portal of the original James Brindley tunnel completed in 1777, unfortunately no longer in use.

This tunnel was completed in 1827 by Thomas Telford to relieve congestion on the Trent & Mersey Canal, it is still in use today.

Cheshire Rambler Railtour ? Kidsgrove Station
Waiting for departure towards the Wheelock line. The number of participants wandering round on the track would raise eyebrows today, but was absolutely normal, and was usually self-policing.
