Railway Crossing Gate Keeper's Cottage
A Grade II listed Railway Gate Keeper's Cottage, built in 1845-50. In a sorry state, but still prettier than the ugly footbridge behind it.

Trent and Mersey Canal, north of Stone. This new bridge (2009) is now labelled 96, although guide books still refer to the remaining original bridge a short distance south also as bridge 96.

Whitebridge Lane Bridge in Stone, Staffordshire
Whitebridge Lane Bridge is No 96 across the Trent and Mersey Canal. This is just a pedestrian bridge now since the new bridge (96A) was built a few metres ahead. Narrowboat 'Azalea' advertises the presence of Roger Fuller's Boatyard about three hundred metres to the south-east.
