Distance

2, 2A & 4 Church Street
The nearer cottages probably date from the early 17th century, with the shop windows being added at the end of the 19th century. Retail use appears to be discontinued. The Georgian house beyond, called Foxlowe has been in use as a club since 1919, but was up for sale when this view was taken. All buildings are grade II listed.

Ancient cross, Leek
One of two ancient preaching crosses in the churchyard of St Edward's Church, the east wall of which can be seen here. The cross, on a more modern base, is thought to be 7th-century. The "wheel-head" at the top is missing. There are carvings in Scandinavian style, visible particularly on the collar, which has an interweaving pattern.

The Old Mill, Leek
Next to Market Place. I couldn't resist photographing something labelled as a mill but I have yet to find out anything about this building and its former use.
