The nearer cottages probably date from the early 17th century, with the shop windows being added at the end of the 19th century. Retail use appears to be discontinued. The Georgian house beyond, called Foxlowe has been in use as a club since 1919, but was up for sale when this view was taken. All buildings are grade II listed.
