St Mary's Drive runs from the lower left to the mid-lower right. The electricity substation is in the upper left, and is seen from the other direction in Image The road in the upper right is Benfleet High Road, and the green area in the corner is St Mary's churchyard. The white building just visible in the top centre is the Anchor pub, with the pub car park below it. The green area below that is now built on.

Essex Way doctors' surgery
We have been using this practice since we moved to Benfleet in the early seventies. In that time, the patients (me) have got older and the doctors got younger. However the outside appearance of the surgery has remained the same.

War Memorial, South Benfleet
And Anchor Inn. The memorial stands in the middle of a busy road close to an even busier mini-roundabout. Not a place for quiet remembrance.

War Memorial
I was coming back from Canvey when I saw this. It is almost impossible to get a good one of this because as you can see it's in the middle of a road, a three-way junction to be precise. I was trying to get closer but the cars just kept on coming. John did a lot better than me. Image
