"Propellers of the City"
This sculpture in Keel Square commemorating the ship building industry was unveiled in 2015. The sculpture incorporates a glass sheet bearing images of many people involved in the industry. The glass has recently been damaged, hence the security fencing erected round it. See also

Site of Crowtree Leisure Centre, Sunderland
The green patch in the foreground is the site of the Crowtree Leisure Centre, which was demolished in 2013 and 2014.
This site, in Sunderland city centre, is unlikely to remain as a green open space for very long. It is expected that the Bridges shopping centre will be expanded onto this land.
