77 - 87 Estcourt Road
Houses in Estcourt Road, viewed across Churchill Way East. Nos 77 & 79 and 81 - 83, on the left, are first shown on the 1901 25 inch map and nos 85 - 87 are earlier, being shown on the 1881 editions, one of a pair of buildings either side of what is now St Mark's Road, named as Park Villas. Estcourt Road was named London Road on both maps and later ones, the renaming presumably taking place when Churchill Way East was opened around 1970, when it lost its significance as a through road.

Football pitches, Salisbury
A green space off College Street. The area nearest the camera is shown on maps as being the route of the long-dismantled city ramparts, and also had a swimming pool on the site until relatively recently: planning permission was granted in 2008 for use as public open space, with a note that "Although a development brief exists for the site outlining planning parameters for residential development, Salisbury District Council as landowner does not intend to redevelop the site."

Greetings for drinkers
The Wyndham Arms started life in the 1880s as a hotel. It has remained largely unaffected by the passage of time and tastes, so this cheery character resides above the door to greet the customers with a smile. The figure is actually Dionysus, who appears sad to those who leave at the end of the evening. See

The Wyndham Arms, Salisbury
We went in here for a drink and were informed by locals that the now nationally-known Hopback brewery started in the cellar of this pub.
