Non-dwelling burglaries

Whilst we have seen a significant reduction in reported non-dwelling burglaries across the area, we have continued to carry out a number of proactive operations with our colleagues from Dorset, Hampshire and BT Police.

These proactive operations will continue as we head further into 2024, to disrupt possible offending and gathering intelligence where possible.

Anti-Social Behaviour

Response (18 Apr 2024)

ASB continues to be a priority in the Alderbury and
Longhedge area. High Visibility patrols are being conducted at certain times to deal with any incidents and provide reassurance to the community.

The police are working very closely with partner agencies including the Parish Councils, and local community groups to address some of the issues and concerns raised.

Vulnerable Checks

Officers conduct regular visits to our identified vulnerable people to both reassure them following reported concerns and to deter visits by criminals who wish to exploit them. We have been working closely with Wiltshire Council Housing on evidence to support several injunctions which we have now got in place. These premises are visited regularly by the teams to provide support to those who are most vulnerable.

Non-dwelling burglaries

We have received some reports of non-dwelling burglaries and theft from motor vehicles in Redlynch, Downton and Wilton. These relate to business premises as well as shed breaks. High visibility targeted patrols are being carried out in these areas.

ASB continues to be a priority in the City Centre. High Visibility patrols are being conducted at certain times to deal with any incidents and provide reassurance to the community. The police are working very closely with partner agencies including the Salisbury City Council and Wiltshire Council in getting a PSPO for the city with regards to drinking alcohol and also a separate PSPO for the use of catapults.

Off road motorbikes/ quadbikes

Reports have been received regarding the use of off-road motorbikes and quadbikes being ridden in the Bemerton Heath area which is causing a danger to road users. Targeted patrols are being conducted in this area, to identify the perpetrators and deal with them robustly.

The Public Safety Protection Order is now in Place in Salisbury City Centre, regarding drinking alcohol in public places and causing associated anti-social behaviour. The team are proactively policing this and will continue to engage, education and enforce offences where deemed appropriate.
