The origin of the street name is obvious in this view. The building at the far end of the south side of the street is St Martin's Church Centre, a former school Image as may be evidenced from the tall windows.

Plaque on St Martin's Church Centre, Salisbury

St Martin's spire
The site has been a place of worship since the twelfth century, although parts of the present church only dates back to the thirteenth at the earliest. The spire may be of a slightly later date, however. See Image] for more views.

St Martin's Terrace
The terrace is in fact a simple alleyway, impassible to motor traffic, but leads towards St Martin's Church Street and the church itself. A benchmark exists on the corner of the housing - see Image] for a closer look.
