Former Ordnance Survey buildings, Southampton
Military early 19th century buildings, taken over by the Ordnance Survey in 1841. Now probably in legal use, the modern Crown Court is just showing on the right. Grade II listed buildings, including the gateway.

Ordnance Survey Monument
Set outside Barrack House in Southampton is this stone which is about 9 inches high. The top brass reads "Height above datum". The side plate reads "Ordnance Survey". The modern plate below reads "This monument forms part of the Ordnance Survey National GPS Network. It is an offence to damage it. If found damaged please ring our helpline on 08456 05 05 05. Thank you. July 1999".

Old Ordnance Survey Headquarters - London Road - Southampton (b)
The old Ordnancee Survey headquarters on London Road in Southampton
There is a Fundamental Benchmsrk (FBM) located just outside this building. The plaque on the wall states that the site was occupied by the OS from 1841 to 1969
