Unity and Loyalty
The Yealde Hall in the Market Place dates back to about the fifteenth century, where it was used as an early form of Guildhall. The Hall has undergone a number of alterations and renovations over the centuries, and until very recently was home to the town's tourist information office. It now resumes life as a museum.
The plasterwork above the steps is an early version of Chippenham's coat of arms and motto. The date of 1776 refers to when work was carried out.
