A gift for all road users - which in the day would have had four legs, not four tyres. However, these days it does not issue water but the flower display is well-tended nonetheless.

This fine horse trough is alongside London Road, near The Green. A gift to the borough from J J Fox in 1868. The path here is quite a height above the canal, so offers a reasonable place to moor.

Built as a school in 1861, the building has recently been used as a youth centre and as accommodation for the local Girl Guides and Brownies. A number of recent planning applications have been made to convert the building into one residential house or into several apartments.
