Priorities

18 Apr 2024

Addressing antisocial use of motor vehicles

Response (18 Apr 2024)

We have noticed that there is a slight up turn in people meeting in cars with in carparks within the town. Whilst this doesn’t cause a cause for concern there have been some suggestions of people being antisocial in and outside of the town. We will look to regularly patrol during the evenings and weekend these locations in order to deal with and deter any antisocial behaviour.

On 26th March there was a community day of action where a number of community speed watch members and the neighbourhood policing team came together to enforce speed limits and also dealt with any other road traffic issues.

23 Aug 2024

Addressing antisocial behaviour, specifically in the Market Place.

Response (23 Aug 2024)

We still are experiencing issues with street drinkers in the Market Place and are regularly both responding to calls to the location and making active patrols. We have a policing plan in place to look at the longer solution here not only with the potential PSPO but also building evidence around civil order for frequent offenders.

Motorbike Thefts

Response (23 Aug 2024)

We have noticed a spike in motorbike thefts recently and are actively investigating these reports as well has making proactive patrols of the town at night in an effort to both apprehend offenders, increase intelligence, and utilise our stop/search powers.
