At this point the trail takes the form of a well surfaced shared-use path alongside the river.

River Wandle near Culvers Avenue
Immediately below the Nightingale Road/Hackbridge Road bridge, the Wandle splits into two to form an island which is bisected by Culvers Avenue running east to west. The eastern branch is the main channel and is seen here looking downriver towards the bridge where Culvers Avenue crosses it. This is just out of sight to the right and the road on the other side is Culvers Avenue leading up to the bridge.

Immediately below the Nightingale Road/Hackbridge Road bridge, the Wandle splits into two to form an island which is bisected by Culvers Avenue running east to west. The eastern branch is the main channel and is seen here looking downriver beyond the bridge where Culvers Avenue crosses it. The path on the right is the Wandle Trail.
