Carved stone post by the B5470, in parish of CHAPEL EN LE FRITH (HIGH PEAK District), Manchester Road; The Birches, Tunstead Milton, on the verge in front of dry stone wall to a paddock, on left of drive to house, on South side of road. Chapel Wedge, erected by the Macclesfield to Chapel en le Frith turnpike trust in the 18th century.

Peak & Northern Footpath Society sign no. 28
Erected in 1905, this is one of the earliest of the Society's signs. Unusual in that it comes in two parts. Also unusual in that it appears to have been erected a year earlier than nearby sign no. 27 Image
