Carved stone post by the B5470, in parish of CHAPEL EN LE FRITH (HIGH PEAK District), Manchester Road; The Birches, Tunstead Milton, on the verge in front of dry stone wall to a paddock, on left of drive to house, on South side of road. Chapel Wedge, erected by the Macclesfield to Chapel en le Frith turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- : To / Stockport / 12 Miles / Manches: / ter 19 : : To / Chappel / 1 mile / Tideswell / 8 Miles / Bakewell / 10 / Chester: / field 24 : Carved benchmark and rivet on top.
