Entrance to the Ferodo Factory
Founded in 1897 by Herbert Frood. Famous for the production of brake-linings and for the addition of the name to bridges all over the UK. It is now part of the American company Federal-Mogul. During the 1990s all reference to the Ferodo brand disappeared from the signs at the factory it became "Federal Mogul Friction Products". As can be seen here Ferodo signs have now been restored.

Ferodo Factory, Chapel-en-le-Frith
The brake-lining manufacturing company Ferodo (an anagram of Frood, the 19th-century founder's name, with the addition of a letter "e") was established in Chapel-en-le-Frith in 1897.
