Peak Forest Tramway, Dove Holes
This old quarry tramway passes under the A6 via the bridge shown, close to the still extant main Buxton-Manchester line (one side of a cutting on this line is visible - covered in a black mesh to prevent slippage - to the right of the picture). The farm at the top left is Hallsteads Farm. The Peak Forest Tramway runs from Dove Holes to Buxworth and was built in the late 18th century.

Old railway, Dove Holes

Conflicting information on the A6 at Dove Holes
I wonder how long the RH sign has been like this/how long it will remain so? Photographic evidence for anybody nicked for going south through Dove Holes at 30+ mph?
