Prince's Incline (1)
This was significantly the longer of the two main inclines on the Poynton Collieries railway system. Originally rope-worked, it was converted to locomotive haulage in 1889. Although worked by the colliery company, it was originally built by the Manchester and Birmingham Railway (one of the constituent companies of the London and North Western Railway, and still part of the main route from Manchester to London) and remains the only part of that Company's network to have closed.

Towers Road (2)
Looking north from Prince's Incline. The status of the road from this point is very unclear. It is not currently adopted, but there are adopted roads leading off it. Its status as a right of way appears to be restricted to pedestrians, as it is only classified as a footpath. There are no signs indicating that it is a private road. The road started life as a colliery tramroad taking coal from local collieries to a coal yard on the main turnpike road to Stockport.
