Looking north from Prince's Incline. The status of the road from this point is very unclear. It is not currently adopted, but there are adopted roads leading off it. Its status as a right of way appears to be restricted to pedestrians, as it is only classified as a footpath. There are no signs indicating that it is a private road. The road started life as a colliery tramroad taking coal from local collieries to a coal yard on the main turnpike road to Stockport.
