Balls Park
The mansion was built in 1640. It became a teachers training college from 1947 until 1979 and then a business school until 2003. The building and grounds have been used for the television series Foyle's War in 2004 and the BBC production of Bleak House in 2006.

New development at Balls Park
This new block of flats stands on the former site of S Block in the one time University of Hertfordshire Balls Park Campus in Hertford. The Grade I listed 1640 Balls Park mansion is just visible in the right background.
The scaffolding to the left is on the former site of the campus's Wingate Library.

Balls Park - north lodge
Balls Park was formerly a teacher training college in extensive grounds. As of 2011 a large residential development was being built on the site (hence the excavator seen here behind the lodge).
The road in the foreground is the old course of London Road - now bypassed by the A414 trunk road and a dead end except for this entrance to Balls Park, and a cycle route.
