Mottingham Station. The train is here.
It's good to get in the train from the cold. But we'll be too warm in 5 minutes.

Long Shadows on the Horse Field
South of Eltham Palace are half a dozen or so fields like this one used for horse grazing. Were they deliberately kept rural so as not to spoil the view from the Palace, or did developers just forget to build all over them.

Mottingham
This loco is a stranger to these parts. It appears to be 58007 "Drakelow Power Station". See http://www.c58lg.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/file/58007.pdf Looks like the people in the building at the right of the photograph could do with a proof-reader, too. On the other track, in the image, and about right alongside where the locomotive is, was a severely "crippled" joint in the rails. I saw a train of 4-wheeled tank-cars pass over the section at fairly high speed and, frankly, it was scary to watch.
