Manual points switching at Charlton
When there are engineering works somewhere between Charlton and Slade Green, trains tend to be terminated here with replacement buses the rest of the way. Surprisingly, the trailing crossover seems not to be linked to the regional control centre at London Bridge, so operatives in high-vis jackets have to be sent to operate the points manually. Mind the live rail, guys!

Train leaving Charlton
Unit 465 050 accelerates away from a stop at Charlton, bound for Dartford. The crossover here evidently sees little use.

Ghost sign near Charlton station
There are actually two faded signs on the brickwork here. The later one advertised Barclays Bank, although it is not clear whether the building itself (now a Chinese restaurant) used to be a bank branch; and there is an older sign beneath it, no longer legible.

New apartments on Charlton Church Lane
These apartments on the corner of Floyd Road were largely complete and some of them apparently occupied, but none of the retail units on the ground floor had yet been let.

Charlton Athletic centenary mural
Painted on the parapet of a railway bridge on Charlton Church Lane in 2019 to mark the football club's centenary. The colour scheme, lettering and even the arrow are in the style of 1950s British Railways signage. 'The Valley' is the club's stadium.

Street art in Charlton
This house in Floyd Road is just round the corner from The Valley, the home of Charlton Athletic Football Club. It is a shame that graffiti has been added to the bottom part.
