'Like the back end of a bus...' at Camberwell bus garage
A number of vintage buses were assembled in the parking area of Camberwell bus garage on the occasion of its 2015 Open Day. On the left is NS 1995 a London General (LGOC) AEC double-decker with bodywork built by the LGOC itself. The bus entered service in 1927 and was withdrawn ten years later. Standing next to it is STL 469, another AEC double-decker. Although only seven years younger than the NS, it has the look of a recognisably modern bus. It lasted in London from 1934 to 1954 and carries London Transport's post-War mainly red livery.

Camberwell bus garage, Warner Road
The garage extends south-west down Warner Road for some distance. This part of the building originally housed offices and dates from when construction of the garage was completed in June 1914. The garage has been extended on several occasions since that time and is today one of London's largest.

Warner Road and Camberwell Bus Garage
Situated in Warner Road SE5 9LU, this large bus garage dates from 1914 but was taken over by the War Department during World War 1. It was not reopened by the London General Omnibus Company for bus operation until July 1919. In the 1930s, it was taken over by London Transport, then during the 1980s, it was transferred to London Central. Subsequently, it was bought by the Go Ahead group in September 1994 and currently has over 260 vehicles allocated to routes operating in Central and South London. When this photo was taken in September 2015, an Open Day was being held at this bus garage attracting many people including children. Warner Road can be seen to the left of the bus garage.
