The Cherry Tree
Pub in Station Road opposite Norwood Junction station. Dating from 1865, it was originally the South Norwood Railway Hotel, but renamed as The Cherry Trees in 1980 before subsequently losing the "s".

Blue plaque on the pedestrian subway leading to Clifford Road and Carmichael Road. It reads "Conceived by Borough Engineer George Carter and constructed by Robert McAlpine and Sons Norwood Junction Subway The world's first reinforced concrete underpass Opened 31 July 1912."

Ex-LB&SC 0-6-2T at Norwood Junction
View eastward from just north of the station: SR ex-Brighton line from London Bridge; the branch from Crystal Palace (Low Level) is visible behind the engine. No. 32413 is an R. Billinton E6 class 0-6-2T built 7/1905 (as 'Fenchurch') and withdrawn 11/58 - but it looked in good condition here six months earlier.
